End User
Licensing Agreement.

This End User License Agreement explains how you may use Jimtype Studio fonts and digital products. Please review the terms carefully to understand your rights, permitted uses, and limitations. For the plain-language overview, see the License page.

The shared agreement

This End User Licensing Agreement (EULA) is a legal agreement between you (“Licensee”) and Jimtype Studio and becomes a binding contract between you and Jimtype Studio when you click on the area marked “ACCEPT LICENSE AGREEMENT” or similar language, or when you accept the EULA by other means (for instance referring to the EULA in a purchase order, a confirmation email, etc.). Please read this entire document before purchasing, downloading, or using the font software (“Font”). If you do not wish to be bound by the Agreement, you cannot purchase, download, or use the Font.

To enter into this EULA, you must be eighteen (18) years of age or older, and be able to form binding contracts under the laws applicable to you. By completing your purchase and installing the Font, you are representing and warranting that terms mentioned in this EULA are correct. This EULA applies to all Fonts offered by Jimtype Studio, whether the Font is offered free of charge or offered for sale. Jimtype Studio provides various font licenses.

After purchasing a font with a specific license, the EULA will automatically come into effect in accordance with the terms of that particular license. For example, if you bought a font with a desktop license, then from the moment of purchase the license agreement based on the terms specified in the desktop license will be valid.

YOU HEREBY AGREE TO THE FOLLOWING:

  • Binding Agreement. You are bound by this EULA and you acknowledge that all use of Fonts offered by Jimtype Studio is governed by the EULA.
  • License Grant. You are hereby granted a non-exclusive, worldwide, perpetual, non-assignable, and non-transferable (except as expressly permitted herein) license to install, access, and use the Font only subject to all of the terms and conditions of this EULA. Jimtype Studio reserves all rights not expressly granted to Licensee in this EULA. If you have any doubts as to whether a particular use of this Font is permitted or prohibited by this EULA, please contact us by emailing [email protected] for more information.

How this document is organized: the ten license-specific sections below set out what each tier permits and prohibits. The shared Standard Terms (Inappropriate Use, Copyright, Termination, Amendments, Refund Policy, Contact) appear once at the bottom of this page and apply to every license.

Desktop

Standard License — if purchased from Etsy

YOU CAN
  • Install the font(s) on 1 computer;
  • Design/Create products (ONLY in the rasterized image or vector outline form) such as invitations, business cards, logos, branding, greeting cards, marketing materials, packaging designs, images on websites, apparel, books, stationery, etc.;
  • Use the font(s) to create physical items for sale. Up to 10.000 sales;
  • Use the font(s) for Personal and Commercial Projects ONLY if the end product(s) are in rasterized image or vector outline form;
YOU CANNOT
  • Embed in websites, web apps; broadcast Content: TV, Motion, Video, Movies, Cartoon; in electronic books/readers/devices; all gaming uses and/or devices; softwares like Templett, Corjl, Canva, etc.

    “Embedding” means the font file is included in the electronic document, app, or other files, as opposed to a static graphic (raster or bit-mapped) representation;

  • Resale/Sublicense the font in source file form or otherwise competitive with the font;
  • Claim the font as your own creation;
  • Distribute the Font Software with client proofs, templates, or in un-flattened files;
  • Use in Design or Print-on-Demand applications;
  • Allow your customers to individually personalize or customize their own physical goods for resale;
  • Use alphabet or letterform-related products for resale or letterform creation products or devices;
  • Obtain the Font Software illegally (i.e. peer sharing, renting, downloading/accessing via a link/website not affiliated to Jimtype Studio and/or not paid for the EULA);

Webfont

YOU CAN
  • Install font(s) only within the your website(s) and agreed upon pageview limit;
YOU CANNOT
  • Link the font across multiple domains;
  • Use the font(s) in any web-based applications where users of the site can select or use the font for any text composition or editing use;
  • Embed in broadcast Content: TV, Motion, Video, Movies, Cartoon; in electronic books/readers/devices; all gaming uses and/or devices; softwares like Templett, Corjl, Canva, etc.;
  • Resale/Sublicense the font in source file form or otherwise competitive with the font;
  • Claim the font as your own creation;
  • Distribute the Font Software with client proofs, templates, or in un-flattened files;
  • Use the font in design or Print-on-Demand applications;
  • Desktop use;
  • Use alphabet or letterform-related products for resale or letterform creation products or devices;
  • Obtain the Font Software illegally;

E-Pub

A note before you buy

This license is priced to be affordable for indie authors, small presses, and self-publishers.

If your project sits at a larger publishing-house scale, this tier may not be the right fit. Please reach out at [email protected] and we can talk about what works for your distribution.

YOU CAN
  • Use the font(s) in e-books or other e-publication titles selected at checkout for an unlimited number of sales or distribution providing that the font is non-extractable;

    A “title” means one (1) standalone e-publication; each book in a series and each issue of an e-publication (including but not limited to magazine publications) is a single title;

YOU CANNOT
  • Embed in websites, web apps; broadcast Content: TV, Motion, Video, Movies, Cartoon; in electronic devices; all gaming uses and/or devices; softwares like Templett, Corjl, Canva, etc.;
  • Offer the Font Software (in any form) in a giveaway or promotion;
  • Resale/Sublicense the font in source file form or otherwise competitive with the font;
  • Claim as your own creation;
  • Distribute the Font Software with client proofs, templates, or in un-flattened files;
  • Use in Design or Print-on-Demand applications;
  • Desktop use;
  • Use alphabet or letterform-related products for resale or letterform creation products or devices;
  • Obtain the Font Software illegally;
  • Use this license at large commercial publishing-house scale — those projects require a separate enterprise license. Please reach out at [email protected].

App / Game

YOU CAN
  • Use the font(s) in 1 App;
  • Use the font(s) in 1 Game;
  • Use the font in one title that is available on multiple device platforms, provided the titles are the same in all respects other than for compatibility purposes with the respective platforms;

    (for example the font may be used in one title where that same title is available on both iOS and Android devices if the applications are the same except for platform compatibility purposes).

  • Embed in mobile applications, desktop applications, and video games ONLY if the font is non-extractable and cannot be installed by an end-user for any use outside of the licensed application;
YOU CANNOT
  • Embed in websites, broadcast Content; in electronic books/readers/devices; all gaming uses and/or devices; softwares like Templett, Corjl, Canva, etc.;
  • Resale/Sublicense the font in source file form or otherwise competitive with the font;
  • Claim the font as your own creation;
  • Distribute the Font Software with client proofs, templates, or in un-flattened files;
  • Use the font in design or Print-on-Demand applications;
  • Desktop use;
  • Use alphabet or letterform-related products for resale or letterform creation products or devices;
  • Obtain the Font Software illegally;

Canva / Corjl / Templett (DOD)

For Designers

YOU CAN
  • Embed Jimtype Studio font(s) in editable template platforms to sell editable templates;

    DOD – download on-demand: On-Demand Downloads are tailor-made for customers who need a fixed number of downloads on an as-needed basis.

YOU CANNOT
  • Embed in broadcast Content: TV, Motion, Video, Movies, Cartoon; in electronic books/readers/devices; all gaming uses and/or devices;
  • Resale/Sublicense the font in source file form or otherwise competitive with the font;
  • Claim the font as your own creation;
  • Use for advertisements and promotion;
  • Distribute the Font Software with client proofs, templates, or in un-flattened files;
  • Desktop use;
  • Use alphabet or letterform-related products for resale or letterform creation products or devices;
  • Obtain the Font Software illegally;
Platform & user restriction

This license is granted to a single individual designer. Even within a single-owner small business, only one designer may use the Font under this license — a business with multiple designers requires a separate license per designer using the Font.

This license does NOT extend to template-hosting platforms (including but not limited to Canva, Corjl, Templett, or any similar platform) for use in their own websites, default font libraries, marketing materials, or platform-wide offerings. A platform may not license this Font on behalf of its users; each end user requires their own license.

Canva for Personal Usage

YOU CAN
  • Embed Jimtype Studio font(s) in Canva to create digital/physical products for ONLY yourself (including a brand using Canva for its own marketing materials and internal-use brand templates — i.e. self-branding) or for ONE client (eg. if you are a social media manager or virtual assistant), but NOT for using in editable templates to sell, distribute, or share outside of the licensed brand or single client. If you want to use the font(s) in editable templates for commercial purposes, please purchase “CANVA / CORJL / TEMPLETT (DOD) LICENSE FOR DESIGNERS”;
YOU CANNOT
  • Embed in websites, web apps, broadcast Content: TV, Motion, Video, Movies, Cartoon; in electronic books/readers/devices; all gaming uses and/or devices; softwares like Templett, Corjl, Canva, to sell editable templates etc.;
  • Resale/Sublicense the font in source file form or otherwise competitive with the font;
  • Claim the font as your own creation;
  • Distribute the Font Software with client proofs, templates, or in un-flattened files;
  • Use the font in design or Print-on-Demand applications for commercial purposes;
  • Desktop use;
  • Use for advertisements and promotion;
  • Use alphabet or letterform-related products for resale or letterform creation products or devices;
  • Obtain the Font Software illegally;

Showit / WordPress / Wix / Squarespace

YOU CAN
  • Install the font(s) in theme(s) to sell, ONLY if the font is non-extractable and cannot be installed by an end-user for any use outside of the licensed theme;
  • Use the font(s) on your own client’s blog and make changes to personalize it;
  • Use the font(s) for the site(s) in your own account;

    Item description must provide a link for Jimtype Studio font. If your client needs the font, they will need to purchase their own license;

YOU CANNOT
  • Embed in websites, web apps, broadcast Content: TV, Motion, Video, Movies, Cartoon; in electronic books/readers/devices; all gaming uses and/or devices; softwares like Templett, Corjl, Canva, etc.;
  • Resale/Sublicense the font in source file form or otherwise competitive with the font;
  • Claim the font as your own creation;
  • Distribute the Font Software with client proofs, templates, or in un-flattened files;
  • Use the font in design or Print-on-Demand applications;
  • Desktop use;
  • Use alphabet or letterform-related products for resale or letterform creation products or devices;
  • Obtain the Font Software illegally;

Digital Ads

YOU CAN
  • Use the font(s) in digital ads (ad creative, ad thumbnails, and accompanying graphics tied to the paid placement) with all social media platforms and ad networks (Meta, TikTok, Pinterest, Google Ads, YouTube ads, and similar);
  • Install the Font Software on up to Two (2) Computers or Work Stations only, provided that both computers or devices are owned by you;
YOU CANNOT
  • Embed in websites, web apps, broadcast Content; in electronic books/readers/devices; all gaming uses and/or devices; softwares like Templett, Corjl, Canva, etc.;
  • Resale/Sublicense the font in source file form or otherwise competitive with the font;
  • Claim the font as your own creation;
  • Distribute the Font Software with client proofs, templates, or in un-flattened files;
  • Use the font in design or Print-on-Demand applications;
  • Desktop use;
  • Use alphabet or letterform-related products for resale or letterform creation products or devices;
  • Obtain the Font Software illegally;

Broadcast

YOU CAN
  • Use the font(s) in 1 broadcast TV/Movie/Motion Graphic;
  • Install on one single Computer of the entity listed into the Broadcasting License invoice. Any other installation of the Digital Font on a Computer requires a Desktop license for the corresponding number of users;
  • Use in Commercial and non-commercial projects;
  • Create unlimited end product for commercial purposes (Product/Print Ads/Merchandise);
YOU CANNOT
  • Resale/Sublicense of the font in source file form or otherwise competitive with the font;
  • Claim the font as your own creation;
  • Allow your customers to individually personalize or customize their own physical goods for resale;
  • Use alphabet or letterform-related products for resale or letterform creation products or devices;
  • Distribute the Font Software with client proofs, templates, or in un-flattened files;
  • Use the font in design or Print-on-Demand applications;
  • Embed in softwares like Templett, Corjl, Canva, etc.;
  • Obtain the Font Software illegally;

Worldwide Corporate

A note before you buy

If your company operates a download-on-demand platform, an editable template service, or a design tool where end users select, type with, or download fonts to create their own designs — including Canva, Templett, Corjl, and similar platforms — please do not purchase this license. It is not built for you.

When my fonts are embedded into templates on these platforms, the templates themselves become a direct, ongoing competitor to the font. An off-the-shelf license — at any price tier — does not cover that scale of use, and the standard compensation simply isn’t sustainable for an independent type artist whose work this is. If your platform genuinely needs to license my fonts, I’d rather have a real conversation than a workaround — please contact [email protected] for a tailored arrangement.

For traditional corporate brands, design agencies, and in-house teams using the font in your own products, marketing, and channels — this license is built for you. Please read on.

YOU CAN
  • Unlimited Commercial Projects produced by the Licensee;
  • Unlimited Web Views on Licensee-owned websites;
  • Unlimited Broadcasting in the Licensee’s own productions;
  • Unlimited Social Media & Blog on Licensee-owned channels;
  • Unlimited Apps & Servers operated by the Licensee;
  • Unlimited End Products for Sale — delivered as finished products, never as editable files containing the font;
YOU CANNOT
  • Use the font(s) in any download-on-demand (DOD) workflow — including but not limited to Canva, Templett, Corjl, and similar editable-template or design platforms. DOD is strictly prohibited under this license, regardless of who purchases it;
  • Resale/Sublicense the font in source file form or otherwise competitive with the font;
  • Claim the font as your own creation;
  • Allow your customers to individually personalize or customize their own physical goods for resale;
  • Use alphabet or letterform-related products for resale or letterform creation products or devices;
  • Distribute the Font Software with client proofs, templates, or in un-flattened files;
  • Obtain the Font Software illegally;
